Core Values

Holistic Formation

We follow the way of Jesus through holistic formation that transforms our thinking, being and doing.

God’s invitation is to honor the imago Dei in each person—to realize that union with God is our birthright, not a reward we earn. Incarnation is central to our understanding of formation. Through Jesus’ life and ministry, we understand that being present in our bodies attunes us to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. We cannot simply think our way to Christlikeness, so our worship practices and gatherings make space for us to be formed as whole, integrated beings. Creation’s invitation to worship is open to us if we are willing to pay attention and engage our whole selves with our surroundings.

Communal Abundance

Rooted in love and the way of Jesus, we pursue communal abundance as God’s vision for all of creation.

God reveals to us emphatically through creation that we were made for connection and interdependence. Our flourishing is not an individual matter; we need each other in profound ways and are commanded to courageously love one another. The Shalom we are collectively called to nurture encompasses all of creation. In a fully inclusive and diverse community, abundance and radical generosity are possible, and we become more than the sum of our parts. Our work is to discern the Spirit’s leading through collaboration and trust found in our mutual priesthood. Everyone carries a story and lived experience that is essential to our expansive understanding of God.

Humble Abiding

We cultivate a posture of humility and continual abiding in God’s love so that we remain open to the Spirit’s dynamic leading.

Jesus calls us to abide in him and his love so that our joy may be complete. That invitation is ongoing, a call to keep returning to God’s love as our primary foundation and the lens by which we approach all things. As such, we commit to a posture of humility as we engage with scripture, each other, and the world. Christlike love teaches us to remain curious rather than judgmental, to choose courage rather than fear, and to embrace paradox over binary thinking. When we abide in the source of love, we are spurred to both action and rest, to empathy and faithful imagination.
